Internal Waterproofing this refers to the waterproofing of the internal walls that show efflorescence due to ingress of water by capillary action. It is generally observed that the walls alongside of wet areas show efflorescence /damp patches of the paint. This rising dampness issue due to capillary movement of moisture can be concealed by treating it using selective products.

1) Polymer based Elastomeric coating system– these systems are high performance elastomeric coating which a very tough and can withstand negative water pressure up to a certain degree only in case of rising dampness. They can be divided into 2 types-
- Single Component Pure Acrylic
- Two Component Cementitious system.
2) PU Based system- these systems are very reliable and have superior life.
These systems can be applied on to large concrete slabs, walls made of brick and block work etc. The product is equally suitable for new and existing structures. The product is designed to bridge shrinkage cracks/gaps in the screed. The product provides a seamless, flexible, tough and durable water-resistant coating. These systems are preferred as an undercoat system as they are not UV stable.
Prior to application of these systems, the surface must be free of paint and putty, the plastered surface must be visible. Clean the surface with water 2-3 times. Ensure the surface is sound as per checklist i.e., all honeycombs, cracks and voids and hollowness must be packed with PMM (Polymer Modified Mortar) /Non-Shrink repair mortar. Measure the moisture using a moisture meter and then select the material. Surface must be in SSD state for cementitious products only.
